Kia recently showed a stunning sedan Stinger GT, from the sight of which all began to salivate. Yes, the Korean car industry has a rather strange design, but it also sometimes produces very beautiful cars. We have picked up 11 most beautiful cars for you, which you will definitely want to buy!
South Korea is a rich and hard-working country that is famous for its lush cities, rich culture and hard history. Korea also has beautiful cars, which will be discussed below:
Kia pro-cee’d GT
Look at him. It seems to be an ordinary Kia cee’d, which is thousands of people driving on Russian roads, but for some reason the gaze lingers on it. It is a “charged” hatchback pro_cee’d GT with 204 hp engine, which could be a competitor of VW Golf GTI. You could have, but you didn’t.
But its appearance is very stylish and dynamic. Designers managed to find a thin line, when the jewelry is exactly as much as you need, a little more – and you would get kitsch. The new bumper with quadruple diodes, playing the role of the DHO – in general, a find! Yes, there is plagiarism as well – the red stripe was clearly seen by the ancestor of the class…
Are you surprised? Yes, from 1996 to 2000. Kia produced English Lotus Elan roadsters under its brand. When Lotus stopped producing Elan, Kia acquired a license to manufacture it.
The main difference between the South Korean version and its British relative is the original 16-valve engine with a working volume of 1.8 liters and 151 hp. The maximum speed that the model is able to develop is 205 km/h. The first “hundred” South Korean roadster is able to gain in 8.7 seconds.
The elegant second-generation Kia Cadenza business class sedan debuted in South Korea in autumn 2015 as the Kia K7. The overall silhouette of Kia Cadenza 2017 in the new body remained recognizable, but the look was more rapid. The vehicle received an aggressive grille, new diode headlights, diced running lights in the front bumper, other rear lights and wide exhaust system pipes.
And now, pay attention to the interior. Does that ring a bell? See the features of German Volkswagen and BMW models? Cadenza can be equipped with a projection display, adaptive cruise control, all-round vision system, tracking functions for “blind” areas and markings, automatic holding a selected band and emergency braking, as well as an audio system by Harman/Kardon with 12 speakers. Cool!
Kia Stinger GT
The Stinger GT is without a doubt the most beautiful car from South Korea. You can’t take your eyes off it. It made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in early 2017.
It is based on a platform from an executive Hyundai Genesis sedan. Under the hood is a turbocharged 365 hp V6, which is combined with an 8-speed “automatic”.
Hyundai Genesis Coupe
In 2008, Hyundai showed the world a stunning rear-wheel drive coupe Genesis Coupe, which replaced the quite popular Tiburon/Coupe. Its outer contours, despite the age of 8 years, still look relevant.
There are two engines to choose from: 2-liter “turbocharger” with 210 hp or 3.8-liter V8 with 306 hp Hyundai Genesis Coupe – comfortable and very fast. For example, it can be easily cut from the Toyota GT86 with a parallel start!
Hyundai S coupe
There were times when Hyundai looked at the Japanese car industry when developing new models. Since 1988, Hyundai offered an elegant coupe S coupe (or Scoupe on the American market) with the classic elegance of Japanese coupe of the late 80s.
The base was a 1.5-liter Mitsubishi 81 hp engine. Later more powerful versions, even with turbocharger, appeared.
Hyundai Veloster Turbo
The Veloster is not the most definite car of the Hyundai company. It was a risky experiment, a concept that got into the series. Its appearance looks non-standard not only for South Korea, but even for over saturated Europe. I am not talking about the unusual layout with one door on the port side and two on the starboard side.
In 2015, a version of Turbo with a 1.6-liter turbo engine rated at 204 hp has appeared. Unfortunately, the car has failed the disgusting chassis and suspension settings, which make driving it sometimes quite dangerous.
When the design of the car takes the Italian atelier Bertone, it turns out bad just can not. Even when it comes to a car of a brand like Daewoo. Family sedan Espero is well known to Russian motorists, because the licensed assembly of this model was established in Rostov-on-Don!
By the way, Daewoo Espero looks like Citroen XM, the design of which was also developed at the Bertone studio. The sedan was equipped with GM borrowed engines 1.5 (66kW/90 hp), 1.8 (70kW/95 hp) or 2.0 (77kW/105 hp).
Don’t rush to scream with admiration for the Korean car industry. They didn’t make this car. It is the “twin” of the Opel GT roadster. The Daewoo G2X was only sold in South Korea. The rear-wheel drive car was equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged 204 hp engine and a 5-speed gearbox.
Korean buyers were not interested in Daewoo G2X and exactly one year later its production at the plant in the U.S., where similar models were made, was stopped. Totally, just over 100 such roadsters were made.
For the Korean market Renault Talisman is produced under the local name Samsung SM6. The machines are produced at the company’s factory in Busan since 2016. The range of engines includes an atmospheric 2.0 (140-150 hp) and turbo 1.6 (190 hp).
Outside and inside there is a real Frenchman. It looks incredibly futuristic and stylish. It has never been and will never be supplied to the Russian market.
Oulim / Proto Spirra
Oulim Motors from Seoul, founded by Han-chul Kim, designer of SsangYong in 2007, has bet on a 2-door coupe with a completely unusual appearance for South Korea. In the same year, the company bought another South Korean manufacturer Proto Motors, and all future models were produced under the new brand.
Proto Spirra is similar to elegant English models and is equipped with a 2.7-liter V6 or 3.8-liter V6. The panels are made of carbon fiber and are mounted on a tubular aluminum space frame.
